Velma, I’m working in my business but I’m not really feeling fulfilled at all. At least I have a job. Some people don’t. I actually feel like something important is missing though. Am I crazy? Should I settle for what I have now hoping I will feel better later on? Is this even about my job?
Wow! What an awesome question. Questions like these speak volumes about the person asking it. First of all, no way are you crazy. Scratch that one off the list please. Your feelings are right on. They are giving you vital information. They are pointing you in a direction. Happiness and fulfillment are your birthrights. You deserve to be happy and fulfilled whether you’re talking about work, relationships and anywhere else in your life.
I believe, and it has been my personal experience, that at some point in our lives, we begin to feel a yearning from deep within our soul. This voice gets louder and louder. The voice gets stronger and stronger until we can’t help but hear it. At that point, it has our undivided attention. Misery is a powerful motivator. It calls to you in ways that no one else can hear. It calls for you. It calls to get your attention. It uses whatever means it needs to, to get your attention. Sometimes, a lot of times, it is that gnawing feeling of unfulfilled and something’s missing that prompts us to ask what’s really missing?
And away we go. The universe conspires on our behalf. Bringing to us the perfect people, places, and circumstances that reveal what we need to know. Not all at once though. A step at time. A piece of the puzzle at a time. A glimmer of the vision at a time. You truly are on your way. Keep asking, “What’s missing?”, “What’s next?” Be open to small clues, “coincidences”, happenstance, and miracles.
Also, practice what I call ‘Come Within’.
- get quiet
- breathe gently
- silence your mind and body as best as you can
- place a hand on your heart
- breathe in Peace
- breathe out Clarity
- breathe in Clarity
- breathe out Peace
- gently, easily, and gracefully
- allow your attention to follow in the flow of your breathe
- calling you within
- continue this breathing and allowing until you feel as though you’re sitting within your center, your heart
- from here, Listen. Notice. Feel. Sense. See.
- when you are ready, slowly bring your attention to your breathing again
- breathe in Peace, breathe out Joy
- breathe in Joy, breathe out Peace
I suggest you use this tool daily. It will support you and guide you in ways that will have your heart jumping for joy! Literally. This exercise will call for you as much as your desire goes draws closer to it. It’s like a magnet. An attraction. And the more consistently you ‘Come Within’, the easier it will be for you to hear, sense and know your next steps.
Happy travels and Godspeed within. xox
