January is over and perhaps along with it, promised resolutions. If you were like many people in the world, you set goals and intentions on the first of January and gave it your best for a week or two. Gradually and once again the chaos returned and that unachieved goal is gathering dust. Yes, of course, you had all of the best intentions to really do it this time; however, your goals and sincere intentions gradually took a backseat to other parts of your life.
February is here and perhaps you’re asking yourself, “Why does this happen? Where did I go wrong again?”
What’s blocking you from moving forward into the next steps of achieving your goals?
Perfection? Remember we are not perfect. And we are perfect. We can only do the best we can do.
Are you your biggest obstacle? Or are you your greatest ally?
Everything happens in perfect timing and perfect order. When you can come from this knowing, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the process.
Some things take time and many quantum leaps.
We can get support from others. Join an accountability group or ask for an accountability partner.
Self-Talk? Beating yourself up does no good. The very word ‘beat’ is a process of breaking something down.
That doesn’t feel good at all does it? It adds to the internal chaos.
What kind of feedback are you giving yourself along the way? Positive or Negative?
Speak to yourself with love and kindness as you would to an innocent child just learning to walk.
Use words and feelings as though you already have ‘this’.
Comparison? Measuring up or down to the success or ‘failure’ of others’ does no good either.
Are you trying to do everything all at once — successfully multitasking as you see others doing?
Do you look to others’ success to measure yours?
Trust and honor your journey. Keep your eye on your prizes along the way.
Focus on your better today than yesterday moments.
Pace? Is ‘this’ goal taking too long? Too much to do to achieve it? Don’t have enough time to devote to achieve your goals?
Goal setting is a planned set of smaller events.
Break down an annual goal into monthly actions and monthly actions into weekly actions and weekly actions into daily actions.
This truly will set you up for success and most importantly keep you in the game…keep you in action.
Unforgiveness? Self-criticism, blame, and shame do nonone any good, ever.
Life includes a gozillion goals, small to huge. We are accomplishing goals all day long whether we are aware of them or not.
Give yourself a pardon when things don’t go as planned or they don’t go as you’d prefer them to.
Impatience? I want it now! This is taking forever! I don’t have time for that! Have you put pressure on yourself?
Long term goals are marathons not sprints. There could be many sprint moments within each marathon.
Is your goal a long term goal or a short term goal?
Take deep breaths from one step to another.
Respect the time your goals need to be accomplished.
Stay present in each moment as fully as possible.
Beliefs? I suck again! I’ll never get it right! I might as well stop trying! I give up! I’m a big fat liar to myself!
Subconscious limiting beliefs can hold us back even when we give our goals 110%. Schedule an appointment with Velma and talk about your limiting beliefs and how the powerful A.C.T. Accelerated Change Template sessions can get to the core limiting beliefs and move you forward with more ease and grace than ever before.
Ease up on yourself. On a daily basis, spend a few quiet moments envisioning yourself celebrating the completion of your goal! Be consistent in thought, word, and deed about the achievement of your goal.
Remember, Intention Overrides Perfection.
Also remember, YOU ARE A WINNER right here, right now!
